Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were preparing for further attacks.
